Functioning as both working government building and museum, the Ohio Statehouse is known mainly for its exquisite architecture and history. One of the few state capitol buildings not modeled after the U.S. Capitol, The Statehouse is considered a great example of the Greek Revival style in addition to possessing some Doric features as well. Art works contained in the building include portraits of Ohio's past governors, presidents and inventors, such as President William McKinley and Thomas Edison. The Ohio Statehouse is located down the street from City Center Mall in downtown Columbus.
