The Columbus Museum of Art houses one of the premiere collections of 19th and early 20th-century art, including important works by Picasso, Renoir, Hopper, Monet, and many more. It also boasts the world's most significant collection of the woodcarvings of local folk artist Elijah Pierce and the world's largest collection of paintings by Columbus native George Bellows. The museum occupies a scenic building with arched doorways in the Discovery District, about four blocks east of the State Capitol.
