Insurance for individuals and families centered around homeowner and auto insurance. Some of the other coverage listed can actually be added to your homeowner policy by endorsement. Our agency takes a holistic approach to personal insurance and tries to look at the entire picture. Why? Because most insurance companies offer a wide variety of combination discounts if all personal policies are written by the same company. In addition, our agency can take a look at all your personal exposures to see how best to handle them. We believe this is a better approach than providing an auto quote. We also believe it is in your best interest to be served by a local professional insurance agent. If you are outside of the Franklin and surrounding counties of Ohio, please look at our pages, but we encourage you to find a local agent who can better serve your individual needs. Take a look around and if you think some of our ideas may benefit you, drop us an email. We would be happy to w ork with you.

Davis supported his family by delivering laundry. His customers knew they could rely upon his dependable service, so when J.L. opened his insurance agency, those customers became his first insured. In those days, the agency was located downtown on Gay Street. In 1919, J.L.'s son, Bill, came back from World War I and entered the agency, which was known as J.L. Davis and Son. In 1925, J.L., Jr. left his job at Jeffrey Manufacturing to join his father and brother in the family business. The name was change d to J.L. Davis and Sons. The agency moved to the grand theater building on State Street, across from Capitol Square. When the business grew, Bill and J.L., Jr. divided the accounts. J.L. kept the original name, and Bill Davis moved his office upstairs in the Grand Theater building. On June 1, 1938 Bill began the W.E. Davis Company. Both agencies prospered, the J.L. Davis agency under the leadership of J.L.'s daughter, Ruth Davis Tisdall.
